Setting out from the Belek resort area and heading deep into the Taurus Mountains, this combo day trip packs three distinct adrenaline experiences into a single programme. In the morning you bounce along the rugged off-road trails of Tazi Canyon in an open-top jeep, optionally soar across the canyon on the world's highest zipline, and then spend the afternoon white-water rafting on the Köprüçay River. The Belek Tazi Canyon Jeep Safari and Rafting tour is a full-day combo designed to deliver the most action-packed day of your holiday.
The excursion is offered with two ticket options. The Standard Ticket covers jeep safari and rafting. The Zipline Included Ticket adds the spectacular Tazi Canyon zipline experience during the jeep safari stop. Whichever option you choose, an all-day adventure programme awaits.
The jeep safari is the first and longest segment of the tour and takes place across the rugged terrain surrounding Tazi Canyon. After a comfortable one-hour drive from Belek you reach the activity station in the Tazi Canyon area. Following a thorough safety briefing, you board 8-to-12-seat open-top Land Rover Defender-style 4x4 off-road jeeps. Every vehicle is handled by an experienced professional driver, so passengers need no driving licence or off-road skills whatsoever. All you have to do is sit back, hold on and enjoy the scenery.
Over roughly 1.5 to 2 hours the jeeps cover a route of 30 to 40 kilometres. Dusty dirt roads winding through pine forests, stream-bed crossings and narrow village tracks navigated with the driver's skill combine to create a genuine off-road adventure. Along the way you pass through small Taurus mountain villages such as Taşkesiği and Sarıhacılar, where short stops offer a chance to observe local life and snap some photographs. Throughout the journey the pine-scented air, the high-altitude mountain breeze and every shade of green envelop you.
The Land Rover Defender-style jeeps are completely open on top, giving you a full 360-degree field of vision. You feel the wind on your face, breathe in the scent of the pine forests and see the canyon depths from an unobstructed angle. This is a sensation that simply cannot be replicated inside a closed vehicle and it is the defining feature of the jeep safari. Naturally, dust, sunshine and the occasional splash of water are all part of the experience, so wearing comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting wet or dirty is strongly recommended.
The most impressive stop on the route is the Tazi Canyon viewing platform. Here the jeeps pull over and the jaw-dropping panorama of the canyon unfolds before you. The valley plunges hundreds of metres below, jagged rock formations line the opposite cliff face and wisps of cloud drift far beneath your feet. This stretch of terrain, sometimes referred to as the Wisdom Valley, offers truly unique frames for photography enthusiasts. Ample free time is provided at the platform so you can soak in the views and take group photos at your leisure.
The most thrilling optional add-on on this tour is the zipline experience based at the Tazi Canyon viewing platform. Guests who hold the Zipline Included Ticket take part during the jeep safari break. The Tazi Canyon Zipline stands at 410 metres above the ground, making it the world's highest zipline, and stretches 1,960 metres from start to finish, making it the longest in Europe. Three parallel lines run side by side, so you can fly simultaneously with friends or family.
The moment you are attached to the line your feet are 410 metres above the canyon floor. Reaching speeds of up to 130 kilometres per hour, you glide above the canyon for roughly five minutes with a bird's-eye panorama the entire way. Below you lies the deep valley, around you the green mantle of the Taurus Mountains and in the distance the horizon stretching all the way to the sea. It is often described as the closest thing to flying without a parachute. An automatic braking system at the end of the line brings you to a safe, smooth stop.
The Tazi Canyon Zipline has been built and certified in accordance with international safety standards. The steel cables are manufactured from high-strength special alloy and undergo regular wear inspections. Every participant is provided with a full-body harness, helmet and carabiner. Experienced, certified instructors deliver a detailed safety briefing before each flight and personally verify that all equipment is correctly fitted. Weather conditions are monitored continuously; in the event of strong wind or storms the operation is halted on safety grounds.
To ride the zipline you must weigh between 30 and 120 kilograms. Anyone outside that range cannot go on the line for safety reasons. Participation is not recommended for individuals with serious heart conditions, epilepsy or similar health issues. Beyond those criteria there is no age restriction; children who meet the weight requirement may join under parental supervision. An important note: this zipline must not be confused with the small zipline activity in the rafting area. The Tazi Canyon Zipline operates at a completely different location, on a far larger scale and in a purpose-built professional facility.
The tour is offered with two ticket options. The Standard Ticket covers hotel transfers, the jeep safari, rafting, all safety equipment, a guide and lunch. The Zipline Included Ticket adds the Tazi Canyon Zipline experience and the zipline safety gear on top of everything in the Standard Ticket. You simply choose the option that matches your appetite for adventure. The jeep safari and rafting programme is identical on both tickets; the only difference is the zipline stop at the Tazi Canyon viewing platform.
After the jeep safari you are transferred to the rafting station in the Köprülü Canyon area. Here your safety equipment is handed out, a comprehensive briefing is given and you set off on the 14-kilometre course. The river splits into two stages: after the first 7 kilometres there is a swimming and rest break at the historic stone bridge, and the second 7 kilometres bring slightly stronger currents. With a difficulty rating of just 1–2, even complete beginners can take part with confidence. If you would like more detailed information about rafting and want to compare your options, you can browse all Belek rafting excursions.
The greatest advantage of this combo tour is that it rolls activities that would normally require separate days into a single programme. A land adventure with the jeep safari in the morning, an aerial adventure with the zipline, and a water adventure with rafting in the afternoon mean you gain a full day of your holiday back. At TourBelek we have planned this itinerary to make the most efficient use of the distances from Belek to Tazi Canyon and Köprülü Canyon. Air-conditioned transfers, experienced guides and a safety-first approach at every stage ensure a smooth and enjoyable day.
Also known as a Tazi Canyon off-road adventure tour from Belek, this programme is ideal for anyone who wants nature exploration, adrenaline and a cultural experience in their holiday. Families, couples, groups of friends and solo travellers all enjoy it equally. The jeep safari section involves no physical effort because a professional driver handles the vehicle; you simply sit and take in the views. The rafting section is also low-difficulty and therefore suitable for first-timers.
The tour runs daily from April to November. For a Belek canyon zipline experience the ideal months are May–June and September–October, when the weather is warm but not oppressive and the river level is optimal for rafting. During the peak summer months of July and August the heat is higher, but the breeze in the open-top jeep and the water on the rafting course provide a refreshing balance.
This jeep safari with rafting combo from Belek suits every age group. Families with children can comfortably join the jeep safari; children aged 7 and above can also participate in the rafting section. A Manavgat Tazi Canyon nature safari from Belek is also a treat for photography enthusiasts: shots taken from the canyon viewing platform, the village tracks and the riverside will fill some of the most striking pages of your travel album. Opting for this combo programme rather than a standalone rafting trip makes the day far more varied and rewarding.
